her own enrolled in the program. Our Curriculum Director, Nancy Nimsz,

such as: - New Providence community pool,
- Various parks & playgrounds,
- Trailside Nature and Science Center,
- Paper Mill Playhouse
- The Fire Station, Police Station, Post Office and Public Library
- Museums and other places of interest
We have two buses that provide transportation for field trips, and also that transport school-age children from New Providence public schools.

DAY
CARE PHILOSOPHY:
The
Day Care is an outreach of the St. Luke’s Reformed Episcopal Church
and as such we stress the importance of spiritual development within each
individual. Each child is a special gift that God has given to us to help
nurture, understand, and meet his/her needs. Here at St. Luke’s,
religious holidays such as Christmas, Good Friday, and Easter are celebrated
according to the Christian beliefs. Religious education is included in
most classes for children 2 years old and above.
In addition
to religious outreach, the purpose of St. Luke’s Day Care is to
meet the needs of infant, preschool, and afterschool children while their
parents are at work or study. We seek to have the child and parents feel
loved and accepted at our Day Care. We are here to offer you all of our
support.
It is our
philosophy that children learn and benefit from activities which help
them to develop spiritually, emotionally, socially, and intellectually.

INFANT
PROGRAM:
AGES: 3 months - 2 ½ years
Our infant care is a small, individualized program, limited to 10 children.
We offer each child personal attention in a family-like atmosphere.
PRESCHOOL
PROGRAM:
AGES: 2 ½
years - 5 years
During the time that the children are with us, we work with numbers, letters,
shapes, colors, concepts, motor skills and listening skills. The children
are also given many opportunities to use their own imagination during
playtime. One of our main goals is to convey to the children all the excitement
and joy that there is in learning.
AFTERSCHOOL
PROGRAM:
GRADES: K - 4th Grade (New Providence)
As in our other programs, the Afterschool program provides the children
with a place where they feel loved, comfortable and cared for. It is a
place where the children can share ideas with us and we can provide them
with the support, friendship and counsel they so often need during their
school years. We achieve this through open group discussions, field trips,
art projects, workshops, indoor/outdoor games, sports, and friendly personal
interaction between the staff and children.
DAY
CARE HOURS: 7:30am - 5:30pm
We are open all year Monday through Friday, closed only for major holidays. Parents are welcome to visit anytime.
STAFF: The members of our staff have extensive experience in caring for young children in a Day Care environment. Our staff provides each child with all the respect, love and concern that he/she needs and deserves. As a small center, with a high ratio of adults to children, we are able to give each child personalized attention when and as often as he/she needs it. TRANSPORTATION: We do provide transportation to and from the New Providence Public Schools. ADMISSION POLICY: Children are accepted on a first come, first served basis according to our space availability for each age group. WAITING LIST: If a space is not immediately available, you may place your child on our waiting list. There is no fee to be placed on our list, however, we cannot give any guarantee of placement. When a space does become available, you will receive a phone call or a letter offering the position to your child. You will have at least one week to decide whether or not you wish to reserve the position. To accept the space, you will be charged a holding fee equivalent to one week's tuition. This is payable within two weeks of accepting the position and is non-refundable if you should choose to late decline the position. If you do not wish to accept a position that is offered to you, you have the option to remain on the waiting list for a later date.
